About No Isolation 

We are No Isolation, a company dedicated to reducing loneliness and social isolation, run by 50 passionate changemakers, entrepreneurs, and technologists. Our journey started in 2015 in Oslo, Norway, where our headquarters are located. We work across Europe, with offices in Munich and London, and have exciting expansion plans.

We are guided by strong values of equality and inclusion, as well as the belief that business can be a force for good. We design and sell “warm technology” products that create genuine feelings of human connection and belonging for those who cannot physically be together due to illness, age, or distance.

We have two products on the market today. AV1 is a telepresence robot that acts as the child’s eyes, ears and voice in the classroom, and Komp is a device that lets digital children and grandchildren share photos, messages and video calls with their analogue grandparents. Both products have received praise from external researchers for increasing the life quality of their users.

We are looking for a Frontend Developer to join our Product Development team. You will create, code, and improve the front-end applications accompanying both our hardware products.

About the role 

In addition to creating, coding and improving our front-end applications, you will also help develop future front-end applications, with the aim of creating a seamless experience for our end-users. React and webRTC are among our main frameworks.

Core Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with UX, back end and embedded developers to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience
  • Optimising code for stability and performance
  • Implementing designs handed over by the UX design team
  • Participating in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices, learn new programming languages, and better assist other team members
  • Taking lead on projects, as needed
  • Assist our Customer Success agents in providing accurate information to our customers and users regarding software updates, fixes and new features

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone either with experience or a willingness to learn, to build great user experiences in a user centered work environment. You will be part of a team which decides how our products should evolve and be improved.

In addition, the ideal candidate has:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer programming, computer science, related field, or can document equivalent work experience in frontend development
  • Experience building and maintaining high-performing web applications
  • Experience with React
  • Skilled in implementing design with a focus on details
  • Experience working with UX-designers and tools like Figma
  • General knowledge about information security and privacy requirements
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment
